Mechanism (M) describes what kind of interaction operates. Topology (T) describes how propagation is structurally organised. Timing (Ti) describes how fast interacting disturbances occur relative to recovery.
The taxonomy is not a single- or multi-hazard inventory. It classifies recurring processes through which hazards and their impacts interact, propagate or accumulate across space, time and sectors within interconnected systems.
